About the RMCS School Counselors
Laura Standard is our school counselor who works with kindergarten, first and second graders. She’s been employed in the field for 16 years, and was most recently the school counselor at Thatcher Brook Primary School in Waterbury, and before that at Flynn and Edmunds Elementary schools in Burlington. Laura is committed to helping guide children’s social-emotional development so they can be curious, creative, compassionate learners. She especially enjoys collaborating with RMCS’ staff members and parents, and inspiring all students to be their best selves.
Meaghan Rice is the school counselor who works with students in third through fifth grade. Meaghan has worked as a school counselor since 2006 with students at a variety of grade levels. While she has enjoyed each age group in different ways, she is especially grateful to be working with the wonderful students, staff and families at RMCS!
Meaghan shares that one of her favorite parts of her work is getting to know all students and working collaboratively with teachers to help children grow.
